Approach / Methodology
Design
Architecture One uses a participatory planning and design process through all
phases of a project. Our experience shows that extensive client involvement
results in a more fitting and appropriate solution. We encourage and strive to
achieve active participation of the entire team, carefully listening to and
incorporating input. The specific knowledge of clients along with their
interest and enthusiasm in the project are important resources of which to take
advantage.

Bid Documents
Architecture One takes pride in preparing a complete, thorough and clean set of
detailed drawings and specifications for competitive bidding on projects. The
time and effort put into this phase encourages lower prices by bidders. Better
defining exactly what is to be bid, reduces the need for contractors to
increase their bids to cover unknown costs. This also lessens additional costs
during construction.
Cost Control
Bringing a project in on budget is an important goal in all our work. The
Architecture One team prepares a cost projection at the end of schematic
design. This is updated at the end of each subsequent phase as the project
evolves and becomes more defined. Cost implications are an important factor in
all design decisions, and if a budget appears to be especially tight,
alternatives may be identified in the bidding documents so the bid can be
adjusted to meet the budget.
Construction
We understand the importance in seeing our projects through to a successful
completion in accordance with the contract documents. Regular, consistent
construction observation plus timely response to questions and submittals is
essential for a successful project. Architecture One gives this phase the same
level of attention as all other phases.
